Comedian, actor and banjo maestro Steve Martin is teaming up with folk singer Edie Brickell for a collaborative album titled Love Has Come For You.
Scheduled for release by Rounder Records on April 23, the album features 13 “eloquently rootsy compositions,” according to the label, and is described as “a substantial departure, as well as a creative milestone, for both artists.” Love Has Come For You was produced by Peter Asher (James Taylor, Elvis Costello, Linda Ronstadt) and features several notable players, including Esperanza Spalding, veteran session guitarist Waddy Wachtel and Nickel Creek’s Sara and Sean Watkins as well bluegrass outfit the Steep Canyon Rangers with whom Martin has played extensively.
